Elizabeth Taylor2024-08-29I would like to start by commending Dr Raath and his entire staff for the good service I received from their consulting rooms the first day I step my foot there. In 2010 I was involved in a car accident and since then I have been suffering from severe headaches and lower back pain. I attended several specialists and physiotherapists but the pain did not go away until my GP referred me to Dr Raath. When I went to him for consultation he gave me a chance to explain how I was feeling and when I was done he then analysed my pains and explain to me why my pains were not going away. Dr Raath then sent me to do intense MRI scans and when I went back to him he told me that he was gonna start by doing rhizotomy on my neck to relieve the headaches. In 2023 Dr Raath implanted the pain stimulator on my back which is really working wonders on me as now I can do anything that I wish to do without any challenges of pain. This stimulator feels like I am at a SPA having massages and the other thing that I like about it I am able to adjust the vibration of this stimulator to the degree I want it to be at. Thank you so much Dr Raath and Marina for the pain free life you introduced to me and I would also applaud Miemie, Adri, Linda and Estia for being such friendly and warmly supporting staff to Dr Raath and his patients. I would also like to thank the nursing staff at Jakaranda Netcare hospital in Ward 4 for the dedication to your work that you are always giving with a smile and love to the patients. I will definitely refer more patients to you.Michell Mc Lean2023-10-21Where do I start, well a short history of my Chronic pain. 13 year's ago I was finally diagnosed with Epilepsy, beforehand doctors diagnosed me with asthma how wrong they were. Since then everything just went down hill. Every year my body got weaker and weaker due to medication that helped me but side effects was a lot worse. It got to a point that I got viral meningitis and since then I didn't have a good immune system. Every year after that I was hospitalized due to infections. Dr's that I seen only treated the symptoms, most of the time they told me I was a medical mystery. Don't get me wrong they helped but not 100% satisfying. Due to my weak immune system my body rejected a lot of procedures and I had to remove them or go for operations. It got to a point that I was 3 years bed ridden. Then I decided to get another opinion once again they don't know. Finally I was referred to Dr Raath. The type of pain was a constant 8 to 10 every single day and every time I mentioned to Dr's please look at my neck they never picked up the problem. 9 LP, over 15 MRI scans and xrays, back operation and seriously a lot of antibiotics, cortisone and pain killers I finally got helped. My first appointment with Dr Raath I was nervous due to my history with the health care providers. When he saw me and I explained everything to him, he immediately checked my neck and gave me hope for the first time in my life. I was send for a test and it confirmed what Dr Raath suspected. Occipital neuralgia, went for the operation and all went well. But what we picked up on the previous MRI was scary I had pass and fibrosis on the brain. That previous Dr's did not notice. Dr Raath went out his way and explained every single detail to me and why this happened. He is currently treating me with drips to heal my body. My pain level is down just sometimes I still get a sharp pain in my brain but that is expected. 13 years of pain can't go away over night. I am also following his healing plan to the letter. His staff are amazing, everyone that works with Dr Raath is a well oiled machine. They treat you with so much care and compassion. I don't have words to describe the amazing service I received and still receiving. Dr Raath is an Angel sent to me and I will recommend people to come and see him. Thank you so much for everything.Marthalie Laubscher2023-10-20I have been receiving IV treatment for Fibromyalgia by Dr Raath and his wonderful team since February 2023. This is combined with a recommended diet and supplements. I only have words of praise for these amazing, knowledgeable and caring team of people. My life drastically turned around with this treatment. Pain and fatigue drastically decreased over time and my emotional well being changed for the better. I was in constant pain for the last 4 years and have CRPS. 4 weeks ago I had the SCS implant done and I am pain free. His staff are so helpful and understanding. It was the best choice I have made to travel the long distance from the Free State to Pretoria.
